Golden Globe Awards 2015: best and worst dressed8:20 PM
First major red carpet of the season and I love it! I love how excited I get when I see a gown I love or how disappointed I can be over someone's choice of clothing. I was really excited to see Emma Stone bringing it, because I hated her Chanel look from last year, and she disappointed me. I mean, I love that she broke the rules by wearing pants, but I still think it wasn't the time to do so. Maybe at an event like the Grammy it would've been better.
So I think we can all agree that the major trend of the evening was sequins. Almost everyone was wearing a sparkly dresses, and to be honest, I loved it! White gowns were also very present. What did you think about Kate Hudson's reaaally sexy dress, for instance? Rosamund Pike, Salma Hayek, Emily Blunt and Giuliana Rancic were wearing white too.
And also, let's take a minute to appreciate Matt Bomer, Matthew McConaughey and especially the power couple: Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo, I mean how hot did they look?
Here are my usual best and worst dressed lists! (How exciting!!)
1. Jessica Chastain in Versace
This dress was amazing, don't you think? I normally hate brown, especially on the red carpet, but this doesn't really qualify as brown, does it? It's like black and gold. I loved how it looked with the lights, the gold high lights are absolutely beautiful. The mermaid ish cut, the cleaveage...everything. J'adore.
2. Claire Danes - Valentino
This Valentino was a piece of art. I love that Claire takes risks and this one's outcome was great. I mean, look at the details, it's gorgeous! I love how she chose a minimal makeup to let the dress really stand out. Obsessed.
3. Alison Williams - Armani Privé
I love red dresses on the red carpet and Alison looked so Vogue. The cut is perfect, her hair looks beautiful and just everything is wonderful. I always like Armani Privé, this was not an exception.
4. Lupita Nyong'o - Giambattista Vali
After Lupita's last year's debut at the Golden Globes in a beautiful red Ralph Lauren, she has been making great fashion choices and I loved this dress. It really represents the designer and I love the contrast it makes with her skin color. She's a really glamorous actress! Love it.
5. Juliane Moore - Givenchy
This dress was made especially for Juliane Moore and it was great. She mentioned she had a saying on the design. She said that she loves feathers... and look at those feathers, they're fab!! I loved this dress. I would've never thought about mixing feathers and sequins. Only Givenchy could've done that.
Now for the worst dressed! *suspense background music*
As always, I'll start with number 5!
5. Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad (groundbreaking)
I really don't like JLo. Whatever she wears, she always manages to look tacky and too revealing. Besides, maybe she should think about innovating a little bit. She always, always wears Zuhair Murad. Don't get me wrong, I like Zuhair Murad, but she makes it look really cheap and tacky. Am I the only one who thinks so?
4. Audrey Hepb... I mean, Amal Clooney in Dior
I'm not going to be too hard on her since it's her first time on an event of this kind. But why did she try to channel her inner Audrey Hepburn? Giuliana Rancic kept saying she loved the white gloves, but I absolutely hate them. That Dior gown is completely acceptable, pretty, and of course expensive as hell...why ruin it with white gloves...oh! and white clutch...Why?
3. Kerry Washington in Mary Katrazanou
She's already a usual in this list. She's always a disaaaster when it comes to the red carpet. I think color blocking is over now, so why keep going with it? I hate the texture, I hate the colors, I hate the shoes (do they have red on them?), the makeup and hair... I hate every single thing about this look.
2. Lorde in Narciso Rodríguez
I know how weird she is and all...but really? I don't even know what to say about this outfit. And did you know it was custom made? Wear that to the Grammys, not the Golden Globes.
1. Melissa McCarthy in...Melissa McCarthy
She said she wanted to make a living out of fashion once upon a time. I really think she would not have made it. Why would someone wear a DIY outfit to the Golden Globes red carpet? I honestly don't understand. Only a designer (and I mean Carolina Herrera kind of designer) can wear DIY to something like the Golden Globes. This is horrible...HO-RRIBLE.
What did you think about the Golden Globes? I love this event. I am getting more and more excited for the upcoming red carpets.
