The Best and Worst Dressed Lists of the 2015 SAG Awards

8:18 PM

The SAG Awards red carpet is definitely not my favorite one. Anyhow, it's always fun to see how the fashion changes from the Golden Globes to the next Award Show...celebrities who had a mishap try harder and maybe make it better or they just keep on failing.
In my opinion, this year's red carpet was a little bit boring. I think this was mainly because either Giuliana Rancic or Ryan Seacrest were no where to be seen, what was this about? Giuliana is the queen of the Red Carpet! Maria Menounos wasn't as fun to watch as Giuliana is, she has that spark that makes everyone laugh! I hope tomorrow night we learn on Fashion Police why she wasn't around.
Going back to fashion...what did you think about it? There were a lot of pretty dresses and quite a few mishaps. I think it's safe to say that white was a trend as it was on the Golden Globes two weeks ago. Quite a few celebrities were wearing white gowns: Reese Witherspoon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ariel Winter... A lot were wearing red too, and I loooved it!
Here we go once again, with the second best and worst dressed list of the season! I can't wait for the Grammy and the Oscars!

Best Dressed

5. Felicity Jones in Balenciaga

Classic, simple and polished. Can't say much more than that. I love the color, the hair, the earrings and the natural looking makeup. Perfection.

4. Julianna Margulies in Giambattista Valli

I really like this designer and this cobalt blue gown is definitely not an exception. Look at how well it contrasts with her skin color. I'm obsessed with the cut and the neckline. I liked how she kept everything else simple, because after all, she was wearing a really bold color! Well done, Julianna!

3. Lupita Nyong'o in Elie Saab

First of all, let's talk about what a great shot this is! Props to the photographer, really, he/she captured everything this dress is about. Lupita took, in my opinion, such a risk by wearing this dress. It's nothing like everything else we've seen her in on the red carpet. She usually keeps it classic and simple, but with this Elie Saab, she brought it! It looks wonderful on her and the print is beautiul. I wish I had this dress...seriously.

2. Julianne Moore in Givenchy

Well, there's nothing much I can say about this dress...besides that it is PERFECT. The color is amazing...not many people wear green to the red carpet. I can only think about Olivia Wilde in Gucci last year at the Golden Globes and Angelina Jolie in a green Atelier Versace at the 2011 Golden Globes. Back to Julianne Moore, she always brings her A game. She was also on my best dressed list for the Golden Globes in Givenchy as well, and now this. I love it, I love her.

1. Emma Stone in Dior Couture

*drum roll*
This is beyond perfection. Oh. My. God. I can't even. Menswear is something that can end up looking like a total fail, or turn out to be Emma Stone on a scale from 1 to perfection. I love this dress. I literally have no words to explain how mesmerized I was when I saw this. She looks wonderful and she doesn't even realize it. Such a risk taker, I love it.

Worst Dressed

To be completely honest, I don't know who half these people are, but just go along with me on this one. Maybe I'm not the only one who doesn't know them and therefore they're not so famous and don't care that much about stylists? I don't know...

5. Melissa Rauch in Pamella Roland

This dress is bazzingawful. I guess Valentine's Day arrived a couple weeks earlier this year. People needs to let go of color blocking, it's so 2014. The fabric is awful, it's like matte. The colors don't go together. The red looks really dull compared to the carpet and dresses like Sophia Bush's and Kaley Cuoco's. Total mishap.

4. Maisie Williams

I honestly have no idea of who she is wearing but I can tell you this: this is a sundress I would wear to brunch. Probably not because it's one of those dresses that has a really awkward ankle lenght that doesn't suit short girls like myself (and definitely Masie). This is way too casual for a red carpet event. I like the shoes, though!

3. Uzo Aduba in Angel Sánchez

I don't know what creeps me out more, her character in Orange is the New Black or this dress. Don't get me wrong, she's a great actress...but she (or her stylist) is not so great at choosing dresses. I don't think yellow is the color to wear to the red carpet, especially because award shows are an evening event and yellow is too bright for that. Also, I hated that it looks like a fishing net, what is that about? I don't know this designer but I have a feeling I won't like his work.

2. Laura Carmichael in Vionnet and Rashida Jones in Stuart Weitzman

So for this one I didn't know who to choose, the pink zebra or the cow, so I chose both. What is with Laura's dress? Why is it pastel pink, half sheer and has zebra stripes on it? It's so ugly. So so ugly. And Rashida's...like what is it with the blue and that print? I hate them both so much. I was like... these two are definitely on my worst dressed list.

1. Lorelei Linklater
Okay, so I don't know who this person is or what she was thinking when she got dressed. What is it with the bell sleeves with some lace coming out of them? Same lace that the back was made out of. Why does it look like she's attending a funeral instead of the SAG Awards? She could easily be confused as a member of the Addams Family. Plus, you can't really see it here, but she has blue hair ends. One thing is to have purple hair like Kelly Osbourne who looks completely amazing, and another is having cerulean hair, a pony tail and hideous looking bell sleeves.

What do you think? Who were your best and worst dressed? Do you agree with my choices?
Stay tuned for the next red carpet events coming your way!
