Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Mexico8:14 PM
Yesterday I had the chance to attend my first Fashion Week show ever and let me tell you, it was everything I expected! I attended Macario Jimenez' show, who has 20 years of experience and whose clothes are absolutely amazing.
Yesterday, Macario Jiménez presented his fall/winter 2015 collection titled "Microaventura" (microadventure). His designs were absolutely and completely amazing. The dresses are so beautiful and feminine. The garments were minimalistic, yet majestic. The clothes came across as floaty and feminine. It was colorful and sheers made a big statement. According to Macario, each piece took around 150 hours to make. Gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous.
I loved the feeling of Fashion Week. When I walked in I was completely overwhelmed. Seeing so many fashionistas, everyone with their own sense of style...it was amazing.
Moments like these reassure me that fashion is what I want to do in life. I want to work in this environment and be surrounded by so many talented people.
Fashion in Mexico is really beginning to take off and no wonder!! Our designers are amazing and they should start to be more recognized in the world. They have amazing proposals that could easily make it into more important Fashion Weeks, like New York.
I decided to wear these pants because flare has been a huge trend during the whole season this year. They're really big right now and I think they can be so flattering. They elongate your figure, making it seem as though you're taller and slimmer. Black is a classic color and you can never go wrong with it. I paired it with a white top, because black and white is Berry Trendy right now as well. This is a rather loose top and most of the time I wouldn't have gone with an overall loose outfit. You can also wear these type of pants with a tight crop top, for example. Heels are definitely a must. You don't want to be dragging pretty pants around! Finally, accesories. I chose this hat which I was hesitant about at first, because of the color. The necklace and bag were the final elements for an outfit that I'm really, really satisfied about.
I ran into Fer Medina from The Fashion State and she's such a nice person. Meeting fellow bloggers is really amazing and I hope to stay in touch with her. She's woked in the fashion industry for about 4 years and she started her blog not so long ago. She has amazing posts and pictures up on her blog! Go visit it. Click here.
