Honey Coconut Oil Hair Mask for Silky Smooth Hair3:06 PM
I realize this is a completely different post from what I usually write. However, I've been thinking lately that when it comes to fashion, everything is not about the clothes. Of course clothing is the major part of the equation, but think about it: You could be wearing the most amazing outfit, but if your hair, face, nails and so on are a mess you won't look fashionable. It's also about your lifestyle. So with this post I'm introducing a new Berry Trendy category to the blog: Lifestyle. Which will include everything from beauty to wellness posts. Let me know down in the comments what you think and what you'd like to read about in this new category!
Back to business now. Have you ever wondered how some people have the silkiest smoothest hair? How you would like your hair to look like that? Have you ever wondered "how does she do it"? I've asked myself those questions before and I'm sure so have you. And maybe you've thought you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on hair products for it to look like that. Well, I have good news for you: you don't have to! Everything you need for silky smooth hair you probably already have it in your kitchen!
Today we'll be making a Honey, Coconut Oil and Egg Hair Mask for silky, smooth and shiny hair!
Coconut Oil has been Berry Trendy the past few months. Have you noticed how everyone has been using it for everything? In their coffee (I still haven't done this 'cause I still find it gross, to be honest), in their smoothies (I've tried this, though and it's not bad at all!), on their faces, hair, etc. Why is this? Well, because coconut oil is such an amazing product, classified as a superfood, with so, so many benefits!
Besides all the amazing healthy benefits coconut oil has if you ingest it, it has a lot of beauty benefits as well. First of all, coconut oil is very moisturizing. It will help your hair and scalp to feel and look smoother and it can also help fight dandruff. It can protect your hair from everyday damage like that from the sun, since it acts as a natural sunscreen. It helps to prevent protein loss in your hair, which means it will look so much better if you apply it on your hair. It can be used as conditioner, as a toner for dry hair, and so much more.
Make sure you get extra virgin coconut oil for better results!
Honey is another amazing thing that you can put on your hair. Honey is a natural softener, so this is self explanatory. It has tons of antioxidants which will make your scalp healthier and aid hair growth. It's moisturizing, antiseptic and antibacterial. It will just help your hair look shinier, smoother and silkier overall.
I used organic honey I bought in the market for this and for everything else. It's much better and much more tastier than industrialized honey.
Eggs are a great breakfast. You can eat it in so many ways. And you can also use it for beauty purposes as well. This might sound disgusting but it truly is wonderful! Eggs have so many proteins that will prevent your hair from breaking, say goodbye to split ends with this! It will help damaged hair appear healthier and smoother. It also aids in hair growth like honey.
You're probably like "JUST TELL ME HOW TO DO IT ALREADY!" Let's do it!
What you'll need:
- 1/2 - 1 tbs of extra virgin coconut oil
- 1 tbs of organic honey
- 1 egg
1. Microwave coconut oil in a microwave safe bowl for 20 seconds to dissolve it and turn it into liquid.
2. Add honey and crack an egg in the mixture.
3. Stir to combine ingredients
4. Apply it with your hands on the length of your hair. Don't apply it on your scalp if you're planning to go out that day because it will take you forever to take it out and your hair will look very greasy.
5. Leave it on for at least an hour. The longer the better. Maybe even sleep with the mixture on.
6. Apply at least once a week for better results.
