Cologne Travel Diary10:00 AM
I know it's been a while buuut I'm FINALLY in Germany!! This past week has been all about settling in and although I was homesick for a couple of days I am good to go now.
During my first days here I took a day trip to what is now one of my favorite cities ever: Cologne.
I loved absolutely everything about this city. The cathedral is one of the most incredible places I've ever been to. It's so beautiful and everywhere you look there are so many details. Everything is perfect, the walls, the floors and the stained glass windows, my God, so incredible. It even makes you feel small being inside. I find it incredible how people so long ago were able to build such masterpieces.
I really liked the architecture throughout the city. I loved how it's a mix of both older classical german buildings, as well as more modern ones. There are so many cute restaurants, bars and cafés by the water that I really recommend trying out.
The vibes around the city are incredible. There's always someone playing music and people are really friendly. It's just such a lively city.
There's a bridge that crosses over the Rhine river which is called the Hohenzollern Bridge and it's incredible. If you go to Cologne you really have to cross it because the views of the city from the other side are to die for.
Also remember the love locks bridge in Paris? Le Pont des Arts? Well I didn't know this but the Hohenzollern Bridge has also so many love locks and they're so beautiful. I loved it.
Long story short, I'm obsessed with Cologne. I really liked this to be the first city I went to during my time in Europe. It's incredible and when I was inside the Dom it felt like such a bucketlist moment.
